Romantic Sailing Adventures
Sail away on the Norfolk Broads. A Two nights skippered sailing adventure, take the helm or sit back and relax on a Traditional Sailing Yacht on the stunning inland waters of the Norfolk broads rich in wildlife and natural beauty. Included in the price are our delicious locally sourced high quality breakfast and lunch hampers.
Day one
3pm Embark and meet your skipper with a cuppa and cake.
Sail up past The National Trust Island of Heigham Holmes to the stunning Hickling Broad and nature reserve. Watch out for Bitterns, Marsh Harriers and Cranes.
Spend the night at the peaceful moorings at Hickling, where a very good meal can be purchased from the water side pub.
Day two
Cook your own full english breakfast to enjoy on deck from the delicious breakfast hamper.
10:30am Your skipper arrives for a day of learning to sail or sitting back and enjoying the peace and tranquility of sailing on the upper reaches of the river Thurne and Horsey Mere. Picnic lunch on deck.
3pm Moor at Horsey Dyke and visit the famous Horsey Windmill, walk to the beach to see the seals and then on to The Nelsons Head pub where you can purchase your evening meal.
Day three
Cook your own full english breakfast to enjoy on deck from the delicious breakfast hamper.
10:30am Your skipper arrives, sail to see the 300 year old listed bridge at Potter Heigham, shoot-the-bridge. Picnic lunch on deck.
Sail to Martham Broad, back to Martham Ferry to disembark at 3pm.
A Taste of Norfolk Sailing
Take to the water for a half day ‘taster sail’ on a Norfolk Yacht. Under the expert guidance of a local ‘Skipper’, enjoy feeling the wind in your sails as you take the tiller and help crew your sailing boat to explore some of the magical waterways in the Norfolk Broads National Park. Experience the beauty of the winding rivers, marshes, great big Norfolk skies, catch glimpses of local wildlife, wind pumps and much more. This experience includes a delicious Norfolk cream tea aboard your yacht.
Learn to Sail
Follow in the footsteps of Lord Nelson who learnt to sail on the Norfolk Broads. Meet locals along the water’s edge as your sail though the reeds and wildlife of the Broads while learning basic sailing skills. Participate in a two day ‘Learn to Sail’ course validated by the RYA (Royal Yachting Association). Sleep in comfort in a local B&B and enjoy delicious home cooked breakfasts and hospitality, or live aboard your classic Norfolk yacht for a full taste of life on the river and a real sailing adventure.
