Amazing weekend learning to sail

One of my best weekends. 20th wedding anniversary so decided to try something different. Took our teenage boys with us and had the most amazing weekend. Our skipper was Guy who was excellent. We all learnt how to sail and some of us really quite well within 2 days!! He was calm, enthusiastic and energetic. The yacht was beautiful, roomy and thanks to some ingenious inventions by Nick very easy to work. The Highton family were all very helpful and kind. Highly, highly recommend it.

Happy memories on our skippered sailing holiday

Thank you Alison and Nick for our fantastic skippered sailing holiday on Bright Spark last weekend. The holiday was perfectly planned and tailored to our needs as sailing beginners. Alison, the hamper was lush and kept us well fed when we weren’t eating at one of the two ideally located night moorings. Nick’s patience and teaching skills helped give us confidence as we literally learned the ropes, and the sailing on and around Hickling Broad was a delight. Nothing but happy memories to take away with us. Thank you both once again. 😊⛵

Would not hesitate to recommend this company for a sailing holiday

BIG shout out to Oliver’s ⛵️ Holidays, Alison & Nick could not have been more helpful from start to finish. Beautiful yacht, beautifully equipped with everything you need to be comfortable, especially the luxury ‘hotel’ duvets 😴 😊. The complimentary and pre-ordered hampers and ready meals are faBulous quality and just perfect to get you underway.

We are novice sailers (just one days tuition long ago) and therefore we had Karl as our skipper/tutor for three half days - by the afternoon of the third day we were deemed competent and were confident enough to ‘sail’ solo and if you are not then‘Brightspark’ is wonderful to motor along these tranquil Broads in 😊. Karl was just superb, he’s a hugely knowledgeable, patient, flexible, interesting young man - he loves sailing, (and it shows), so this is his hobby - his ‘proper’ job is pretty interesting too!

We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this great team/company for a sailing holiday in a very quiet part of The Broads and will definitely be back, hopefully before Winter arrives if we can fit another weekend end 🤞

Huge thanks to Karl, Alison & Nick for getting us sailing ⛵️

I just wanted to say a HUGE THANK YOU for such a fabulous weekend.
We had such a lovely time and learnt so much (Me: knots, rope skills and that I can’t sail in a straight line!…. Ben: that he’s naturally good at this 🙄!)
Carl (or Karl?!) was really great - super knowledgable and great company too.
Overall a splendid weekend and well worth the wait for sure!
Thank you so much for all of your flexibility and your warmth.
I hope you have an excellent rest of the summer season and beyond.

Thank you!
Sarah
